Everyone is entitled to their own particular shower routine. Some of us control freaks have a highly specified process that we don't like to deviate from. It's a self-care ritual, and it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else. There are so many showering choices we have to make, either consciously or unconsciously. Do we face toward the water or away? Do we use a loofah or a washcloth? Do we wash our face in the shower or in the sink? Do we shower using hot or cold water? Over time, you hone your habits. And by the time you've reached adulthood, you're probably pretty set in your ways. In this case, it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
